When Ottolenghi approached Nextpack, his team wanted to make the Ottolenghi retail experience more giftable – turning their signature cookbook and pantry staples into a set that could delight customers and open a new revenue stream.
The SIMPLE cookbook’s weight required packaging strong enough to hold it securely while allowing fast packing, easy customer access, and compact shipping.
Nextpack developed a bespoke box that supports the book while showcasing each element – the fine grater and Ottolenghi’s trio of condiments – with space to breathe. Made from recycled materials, it balances strength, sustainability, and presentation, reflecting Ottolenghi’s refined yet approachable brand.
For over six months, we worked with UK partners through multiple prototypes, testing every detail to meet strict quality and shipping standards. Each utensil was trialled for usability and durability to ensure it met Ottolenghi’s expectations for longevity. The final design delivers strong shelf presence, premium impact, and efficient assembly – a balance of practicality and polish.
The result captures Ottolenghi’s culinary philosophy – effortless elegance for everyday enjoyment – through design that feels as refined and functional as the recipes themselves.
